We analyze a multipleinput multipleoutput (MIMO) radar model and provide recovery results for a compressed sensing (CS) approach. In MIMO radar different pulses are emitted by several transmitters and the echoes are recorded at several receiver nodes. Under reasonable assumptions the transformation from emitted pulses to the received echoes can approximately be regarded as linear. For the considered model, and many radar tasks in general, sparsity of targets within the considered...

We construct the states of maximal localization taking into account a modification of the commutation relation between position and momentum operators to all orders of the minimum length parameter. To first order, the algebra we use reproduces the one proposed by Kempft, Mangano and Mann. It is emphasized that a minimal length acts as a natural regulator for the theory, thus eliminating the otherwise ever appearing infinities. So, we use our results to calculate the first correction to the...

A cosmological first order electroweak phase transition could explain the origin of the cosmic matterantimatter asymmetry. While it does not occur in the Standard Model, it becomes possible in the presence of a second Higgs doublet. In this context, we obtain the properties of the new scalars $H_0$, $A_0$ and $H^{\pm}$ leading to such a phase transition, showing that its key LHC signature would be the decay $A_0 \rightarrow H_0 Z$, and we analyze the promising LHC search prospects for this...

It is shown that a smooth global deformation of quartic double solids, i.e. double covers of $\mathbb P^3$ branched along smooth quartics, is again a quartic double solid without assuming the projectivity of the global deformation. The analogous result for smooth intersections of two quadrics in $\mathbb P^ 5$ is also shown, which is, however, much easier. In a weak form this extends results of J. Koll\'ar and I. Nakamura on Moishezon manifolds that are homeomorphic to certain Fano threefolds...

Quantum scale invariance in the UV has been recently advocated as an attractive way of solving the gauge hierarchy problem arising in the Standard Model. We explore the cosmological signatures at the electroweak scale when the breaking of scale invariance originates from a hidden sector and is mediated to the Standard Model by gauge interactions (Gauge Mediation). These scenarios, while being hard to distinguish from the Standard Model at LHC, can give rise to a strong electroweak phase...

We prove that the abundance conjecture for nonuniruled klt pairs in dimension $n$ implies the abundance conjecture for uniruled klt pairs in dimension $n$, assuming the Minimal Model Program in lower dimensions.

We consider strained graphene, modelled by the twodimensional massive Dirac operator, with potentials corresponding to charge distributions with vanishing total charge, nonvanishing dipole moment and finitely many point charges of subcritical coupling constants located in the graphene sheet. We show that the bound state energies accumulate exponentially fast at the edges of the spectral gap by determining the leading order of the accumulation rate.

RoboClam is a burrowing technology inspired by Ensis directus, the Atlantic razor clam. Atlantic razor clams should only be strong enough to dig a few centimeters into the soil, yet they burrow to over 70 cm. The animal uses a clever trick to achieve this: by contracting its body, it agitates and locally fluidizes the soil, reducing the drag and energetic cost of burrowing. RoboClam technology, which is based on the digging mechanics of razor clams, may be valuable for subsea applications that...

Current discussions of the allowed twoHiggsdoublet model (2HDM) parameter space after LHC Run 1 and the prospects for Run 2 are commonly phrased in the context of a quasidegenerate spectrum for the new scalars. Here we discuss the generic situation of a 2HDM with a nondegenerate spectrum for the new scalars. This is highly motivated from a cosmological perspective since it naturally leads to a strongly first order electroweak phase transition that could explain the matterantimatter...

This article is from Oncotarget , volume 4 . Abstract Primary mediastinal Bcell lymphoma (PMBL) is characterized by aberrant activation of JAK/STATsignaling resulting in constitutive presence of phosphorylated STAT6 (pSTAT6). In primary PMBL samples pSTAT6 is only expressed in a subpopulation of lymphoma cells in a pattern that is reminiscent of that of the BCL6 oncogene. Doublefluorescence staining was carried out to determine the association between these two proteins in ten primary PMBL...

The existence of a second Higgs doublet in Nature could lead to a cosmological first order electroweak phase transition and explain the origin of the matterantimatter asymmetry in the Universe. We obtain the spectrum and properties of the new scalars $H_0$, $A_0$ and $H^{\pm}$ that signal such a phase transition, and show that the observation of the decay $A_0 \rightarrow H_0 Z$ at LHC would be a `smoking gun' signature of these scenarios. We analyze the LHC search prospects for this decay in...

We aimed providing first data on the efficacy and safety of the lowmolecularweight heparin certoparin in this setting. Methods: Multicenter, openlabel, 8week trial. Patients received a single dose of 3,000 IU certoparin i.v. with additional titration steps of 600 IU and/or continuous infusion if...
